I walked from our house today, to Safeway. I spent most of my walk (with baby strapped to my front) walking down the middle of the (barely plowed) streets because the sidewalks were sheets of ice.

And the city blowing the snow removal budget is BS - that's what contingency funds are for. maybe they should install less lame "art" in parks (Toronto Park at 8th and Royal recently got a ridiculous little makeover with a boy puddlejumping statue) and more on snow removal. Its hard for them to enforce their bylaws if they don't even practice them themselves! BROO-TAL.

Great post!
I like your snomageddon term. I'm proud to say I coined the term 'snowhawk' after the main dump of snow. This is used to describe the 1ftx1ft line of snow left down the middle of roofs of taller crossovers/SUV's/minivans because the owners could only reach so far to clear the majority of the snow. I laugh every time I see a vehicle driving around with this on top; it looks hilarious!
