Come to Summerfest in Grimston Park, July 17, 4-11pm! Free live music, kids' crafts, mini-Farmers Market & outdoor screening of E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial at dusk.

WHAT: Tenth to the Fraser is proud to present a new community festival in New Westminster’s West End: Summerfest in Grimston Park. Meet your neighbours, explore the new playground at Grimston Park, enjoy free live music and activities, and, at dusk, watch a movie under the stars. Bring the family and pack a picnic or bring a little cash to buy food on site. Summerfest is brought to you by Tenth to the Fraser, the West End Residents’ Association, the West End Business Association and New Westminster Parks, Culture & Recreation.

WHERE: Grimston Park, 7th Ave. at 19th St., New Westminster

DETAILS: Here’s what we’ve got planned so far:

  • Celebrate the opening of the new playground at Grimston Park
  • Splash in the wading pool (open late this day only)
  • Picnic in the park! Bring your own or purchase food from the Royal City Farmers Market “mini-market” and local West End merchants
  • Hear great live music from Ross Werlick on steel guitar, Chris Messytone on accordion, Alex Marusyk with acoustic/folk & western swing, Ron Ulrich with classic pop-rock covers, blues band Delta Blue,  and folk singer-songwriter Gillian Hobbs
  • Mosaic making for final piece in award-winning 12th St. art installations
  • Community tables, including West End Residents Association, West End Business Association, Block Watch, Police Mobile Command Centre, New Westminster Environmental Partners, Pretty Up Parties, Community Savings Credit Union, local MLA Dawn Black  and more
  • Cap it all off with a free big-screen presentation of E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial under the stars (and maybe you’ll even catch a glimpse of the Fraser Fest fireworks too!)
